How to Set Up a Spot Monitor on a Camius DVR (CVBS Output Guide)
The Camius DVR includes a CVBS BNC output that lets you connect a second monitor to display specific camera channels separately from your main screen. You set it to cycle through cameras automatically in Dynamic mode or show fixed channels in Static mode. This guide walks you through the full setup.
The Camius 4K security camera DVR recorders have 3 video outputs that allow you to connect a monitor or TV for live viewing. It includes a 4K HDMI output with a video resolution of 3840×2160, a VGA output that supports 1080P video (1920×1080), and a CVBS (or BNC) output for a Spot-out monitor to call out specific cameras.
Please follow this step-by-step guide on how to configure the DVR’s Spot-out settings.
To ensure proper connectivity between your devices, using a BNC connector with an RCA cable is important.
To configure the SPOT-OUT setting on your DVR, use a BNC to RCA cable to connect your spot monitor to the CVBS BNC port on the back of the DVR.
- Use your DVR’s HDMI interface to access the menu.
- Navigate to Setup >> System >> General >> Output Configuration.
- From the Video Output dropdown, select SPOT-OUT.
- Check the CVBS SPOT box.
- Choose either Dynamic or Static.
- If you selected Dynamic, open Spot Poll Setting and select which channels you want to include in the SEQ rotation. If you selected Static, use Define SEQ Setting to assign channels to specific display windows.
- Click Apply to save your settings.
Note:
In Dynamic mode, only channels selected in the Spot Poll Setting will cycle on the spot monitor. If a channel is not showing in the rotation, go back to Spot Poll Setting and confirm it is included.
