How to reset an IP camera
This guide applies to Camius IP cameras that have a reset button:
- IRIS5R
- IRIS528R
- IRIS8R
- BOLTX5R
- BOLTX536R
- SPOT8R
- SPOT8282A-R
There are three ways to reset the IP camera to default (factory) settings:
- by pressing a reset button
- by loading default settings from the IP cameras’ web browser interface
- through the Camius NVR or DVR
Option 1 - Resetting the IP camera using the camera's reset button
If you forgot your IP camera’s password, you could reset it by pressing the reset button on the camera while the camera is powered on and connected to your network.
Remove the ‘RESET/micro SD‘ cover on the camera, using a paper clip, press, and hold the reset for 10 seconds. The camera will restart, after which you can set a new password.

Option 2 - Resetting the IP camera from the camera's web browser interface
The other way to reset the camera to factory settings is via a web browser. Use this guide about accessing the IP camera using a web browser. Once you access the IP cameras web browser view, click on Remote Setting (top right corner), followed by System >> Maintenance >> Log >> Load Default >> Apply
Once you reset the IP camera using a reset button or by defaulting the camera to factory settings, you’ll need to set a new password

Option 3 - Resetting the IP camera from the Camius NVR
If you view your cameras from a monitor connected to the NVR’s HDMI video output, navigate to the left bottom corner of the screen to access the NVR’s menu. Click on Setup >> System >> IP Camera Maintain >> Load Default >> Select the Camera under the Channel column you wish to reset to factory settings and click the Default button.
If you are accessing the NVR using the web browser, click on Remote Setting (top right corner), followed by System >> Maintenance >> Log >> Load Default >> Apply (shown below)
