How to adjust 4K Analog Cameras settings using OSD Menu, UTC Control Benefits

If you are looking for a reliable and versatile security system that can work with both analog and IP cameras, you might want to consider Camius DVRs and analog cameras. Camius is a trusted name in the industry, offering advanced 4K DVRs with CVBS, AHD, CVI, and TVI cameras, smart detection, audio, high capacity storage, compatibility with IP cameras, and PTZ control capabilities, providing enhanced features and flexibility.

One of the features that sets Camius apart from other brands is the UTC (Up the Coax) control, which allows you to control analog camera settings through the DVR’s display menu. In this tutorial, we will explain what UTC control is, how it works, and why it is beneficial for your security system.

What is UTC Control and OSD Menu?

UTC stands for Up the Coax, which is a technology that enables communication between the DVR and the analog camera using the same coaxial cable that transmits video signals. This means that you don’t need to run separate wires or use RS485 connectors to adjust the camera’s settings. You can simply use the DVR’s remote control or mouse to access the camera’s OSD (On Screen Display) menu and change various parameters such as the camera’s video mode, format, menu language, exposure, day and night mode,  video settings, audio volume, and even you can reset the analog camera.

How Does UTC Control and On Screen Display Work?

To use UTC control, you need to have a compatible DVR and analog camera that support the same protocol. Camius DVR recorders and analog cameras support UTC functions to offer the best of surveillance system.

If you are adding non-Camius analog cameras to the Camius DVR, make sure they support CVBS, AHD, CVI or TVI mode. The OSD On screen display menu is available if the non-Camius camera supports the UTC function, and then you can choose COAX1 or COAX2 to display the camera’s OSD menu or control the UTC function.

To access and utilize the Up the Coax control panel on your Camius DVR, follow these steps:
